Not Much to Say

Okay, I really don't have much to say.

1. We are having a cooler spell in Alabama -- at least where I am in Alabama. It feels nice outside in the morning, and it wasn't too bad in the afternoon either. There was a little breeze yesterday, even.
2. I watched TOP HAT (another Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie) last night. I really am enjoying these. They are clever and fun. And clean. If you haven't seen them, give them a try. Stacy's right... There's a lot of great stuff out there in black and white :).
3. I'm very tired.
4. I cannot believe I'm a week and a half away from being done with my master's degree.
5. Julie guessed the movie quote correctly! -- which is mostly why I did this post... so I could give her credit :). Also, I want everyone to know that I decided I'm going to count the guesses that are correct without asking them to "Please be more 'pacific'". So, Anna -- I'm counting you as having it too :)!

did i slaughter the title??? i probably got it wrong, but ehh.
my dad's coming in for a week. he's now arriving a day early! why do people do that??? it ruins plans, and might i add it's rude. anyway, my stress level is about to escalate.
oh, for those of you who think i'm totally heartless...
he's a little high maintenance, kind of like having to entertain another child.
lol!

I do feel the love.... Although it made the comments longer than the actual post ;). Hahaha... Glad you liked Vanilla Ice's video. it's classic. Sorry you are highly stressed at the moment. Oh, and I'm glad to see I turned you on to an author you liked (I saw that you read all of the Gerritsen books on your blog :)). And... nope, your movie guess was wrong -- but not butchered badly (if at all -- I didn't look up the spelling :)).

Loveya!

i still have one more to read... but i've started shogun again and am reading red dragon soon to be followed by silence of the lambs and hannibal.

Katherine Ronachert said...

you'd be so proud; we're utilizing the library more instead of buying the books.

Libraries are fabulous places. I've read RED DRAGON and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. I read most of HANNIBAL, but I never finished it. I don't know why I didn't, though. Which Gerritsen book haven't you read yet? (I can just go look at your blog and see ;)).

Nope, by my count, you've got 2 left (well, actually, she has a few others that aren't as widely known). But, of the ones that launched her onto best-seller lists, there are still 2: GRAVITY and LIFE SUPPORT. GRAVITY was the most different -- it takes place in a space station in space. But, I still thought it was really good.

I LOVE Elka's style! I wish my Dad were still on this side of the veil to mess with my plans...and reply "and live?" to any tongue and cheek threat I might make. I am overdue to read something which contains neither citations nor equations...you've given me some great ideas ... one of my students recommended The Giver

oh, there was only one of the rizzoli series. i don't know about gravity... you know the whole sci fi thing?? it's surprising that i liked indiana jones as much as i did... maybe! i'm having a book frenzy this summer because i have a feeling there won't be much time come september... :(

Katherine Ronachert said...

oh, and hannibal is REALLY gruesome and ends weird from what i remember, but that was 8 years ago. am i really THAT old?

Katherine Ronachert said...

hi virginia! sorry about your dad. you can have my high maintenance one. i'm thinking of putting him on craigs list or something. i hear you can sell anything there. on couple tried to sell their son. (hmmm not a bad idea? wonder what i'd get for mine!)

nilla, if you think the previous comment was inappropriat (could hurt feelings) please don't post it. i just woke up. yes, yes, i'm a lazy bum!

Katherine Ronachert said...

oh and i might as well do a shout out to the ever famous juliebean!

Katherine Ronachert said...

ok, i'm an official loser!

Nilla said...

Elka -- you sounded playful in your comment ;). I didn't think it would hurt anyone's feelings. So, I posted it ;). And you're right! You are a lazy bum! Hahaha :). But, I'd have been sleeping until then too, if I didn't have to be here!

Oh, nothing much to say at the moment, hence... no blog today. I could do memory lane stuff. But, I'll save it ;).

Katherine Ronachert said...

you should come up with a good story about your mom.

Katherine Ronachert said...

i'm off to stalk

Nilla said...

Oh, I've got one. But, I'm saving it for her birthday :). Perhaps I'll think of another one... If I do, I'll post it today :).

Guess I'll comment here since there was no Friday blog :( ... I can hardly believe the Nilla still doesn't have much to say ;) ... then I usually don't have much to say BUT I MUST share that my dad and I both give elka's offer a rousing ROTFL (he's gone ahead not gone) ... after all I do has his twisted sense of humor ... fyi I think dads are like kids ... wouldn't take a one billion dollars for them but all to often wouldn't pay a nickel for another one just like them
