Here I Am Staring at Your Perfection

Two months.

That's how old you are today, my sweet Lynnaea.  The past month has brought many changes for you!  You smile a lot.  Especially in the mornings -- and also at Daddy when he comes home from work.  You have the sweetest smile.  I just love it.  You hold your head up amazingly well!  You are very strong, and I love watching you grow and learn.  Your favorite position to be held in is over the shoulder.  You like to look around and see what is around you.  At the beginning of this month, you were mesmerized by lights and loved to stare at them.  Now your focus is dedicated to objects more.  You want to know where your favorite place in the house is?  The changing table.  You are almost always happy when we put you there.  Maybe it's because Daddy and I give you our undivided attention there (and I mean after the diaper change).  You draw us in like a magnet and we listen to you coo and we talk back.  We watch you smile, and we smile back.  It's a fun time for all of us :).

We are still working on your sleeping at night.  But I have learned a few tricks that help me get a little more sleep.  I've also learned how to get you to sleep best for naps.  It turns out you have made an association between sleepy time and your beautiful knitted blanket.  So I just cover you up with it (even when it's atrociously hot, like it happens to be today), set you against my chest, and walk and bounce you until you rest your head against me and sleep.  I could hold you for hours, Lynnaea.  I love to hold you.  And having you fall asleep on me is one of the sweetest joys I experience.  I know, I know...  Maybe it's a bad habit that I'll have to break one day.  But I don't care.  You're my precious baby girl, and there's plenty of time for all that.  I think you need mommy snuggles.  And I certainly need baby snuggles :).

As of right now, some of your biggest struggles seem to be with your digestion.  You spit up a lot, and you still get gas a lot.  Daddy and I have learned that we need to feed you less, but more often; otherwise you get a ton of gas, and that makes for a bad night!  We are hoping these things will improve as your digestive system improves.

Lynnaea, here's the thing:  you're perfect to your mommy.  I love you so very much.  I love your sweet little round face.  And as I sit with you on my shoulder and stare at your face by the light of the Christmas lights (Daddy strung up a strand so we have light for night feedings... Other lights drew your attention too much and distracted you from going back to sleep!), I am in awe of all of your perfection.  And so I titled this blog post as a line from a song.  You are my joy, little girl.  And though I don't think I deserve the precious spirit that you are -- and though I think you deserve a much better mommy than I am, I am thankful every single day that Heavenly Father sent you to me.  I love you...  Always.

Love,

Mommy

A Two Poop Kind of Week

Lynnaea had two baths today:  one at noon and one about 15 minutes ago.  She decided to have two especially nice diapers today.  She's in her 3rd outfit of the day...  I think it's sort of amusing that the only time someone would actually write about such a thing is when it's their kid.  Poor kid.  That aside, it has been a rough week.  Well, honestly, it's been a rough couple of few weeks.  But we've survived them.

Anyway, I would love to one day write more.  There have been a ton of ups and downs.  But life is passing fast.  My little girl will be 2 months old in less than a week.  She's 8 weeks old today.  And she is just awesome.  She smiles.  But she always stops smiling once I get the camera in front of my face -- or even just near it.  Stinker ;).  She smiles a lot at Jeremy.  She's starting to "talk."  And you can tell when she gets excited, because she does her smile and waves her arms and kicks her legs frantically.  I love it

My dad told me that I haven't posted any pictures lately.  True.  So I have a few moments while Jeremy is rocking our sleeping baby.  These are from this week (well, the first couple aren't...).

Okay, now the ones from this week :).

I find she sleeps better on her tummy.  Sigh...  But it's a big no-no.  So she doesn't, unless she's on me.  This was my attempt to find out if she would stay asleep during her nap.  And she did.  But oh well.
These two pictures are from Wednesday when three of us ladies that were all pregnant at the same time in our Ward got together.  We are all now in different Wards, but it was pretty neat all experiencing it together.
Darn the blurry one...  It would've been great.
Here you can sort of see her smile.
Grandma came by to sit with Lynnaea so Mommy could get some stuff done.
And these are the cell phone pictures:
She sleeps best when she sleeps on me for a nap.  And so I usually nap with her :).
This was earlier this evening (prior to her 2nd pooping incident).  Love this baby.  And love her hair :).

And yeah, so life has been rocky in some ways lately. But here was a happy discovery while shopping today :)...  It wasn't on my shopping list, but who cares?  In fact, I think I'll go eat one now!

 Happy Friday :).

Our Beautiful Munchkin

Our little Lynnaea is growing up so much!  And so fast!  I spent some serious time taking pictures today :).

Funny story:  she loves the changing table!  I don't know why...  But she can be fussy and we put her there to change her diaper and she gets totally content.  Mornings are some of her happiest times, and she is starting to coo and make little noises that aren't associated with crying :).  Although she wouldn't make any sounds while I was doing short little videos of her today... I'm going to try to upload one or both...  We'll see how that goes.

So enjoy the pictures of our sweet girl!!

Oh how I love her :).

And oh yeah...  Hope you had a Happy 4th!!  Though I am not a "dress-up for the holiday" person, apparently I find joy in dressing my sweet girl up for it ;)...

Photo Update

There are so many things I want to write...  But there is never time.  In fact, my little munchkin has just awoken and will be letting me know she's hungry very soon (I used the very short nap time to wash some spinach picked out of our very untended garden (seriously, the grass is almost overgrowing the squash plants!) for sauteed garlic spinach to go along with dinner and then get a shower.  I'm happy to report I was also able to finish some chores of the day:  cleaning the whole bathroom and folding that last load of laundry from yesterday!).  So, until I have more of that fleeting thing called time...  Here are some pictures from recently :).

The only way to get things done!!!

Looking at her toys during happy time!!

I just think she is cute when she sleeps :).

Tummy time!  It's not her favorite...

Yep, more sleeping...

Bath time!!!  She watches me the whole time.

And these are today...  She had just woken from her nap.

Can't really tell here but she is working on smiling :).

P.S...  It's been yucky hot here.  At least by our standards.  Today was better at 84 degrees for the high.  Tomorrow will be even better at 79 :).  I loathe the heat!!!
