3M Returns...Plus Other Stuff

I think there is a phenomenon having to do with time. It doesn't matter how much of it I have, I still have a lot more things to do than time to do it! That's why it's all about prioritizing. So I will briefly fill you in on my week (because keeping up with this blog does rank on that prioritization list...) and then I'll fill you in on my priorities. Because one day, I will probably look back on this blog post, and wonder about all the things that kept me busy. I look back at past blogs now and laugh as well as remember the things I was dealing with 3 years ago. It's kind of fun.

So anyway. I left off with last Sunday. Which brings us to Monday. Monday was the return of 3M. Which stands for Marvelous Monday Meals, in case you haven't seen a reference in so long that you forgot :). Life had been busy for lots of people, so our Monday night tradition had kind of taken a back burner. But we started it back up on Monday and are breaking it in slowly. We didn't do elaborate recipes this time, and it was really more about getting together again as friends + a few extras :). (Who I suppose also qualify as friends ;)). So here was our Monday night group. Wow have we grown! In addition to the 6 regulars (those being Chuck, Morgan, Dan, Xavier, me, and Lea), we also had Xavier's friend Emmee (I'm guessing at how she spells that), my brother Brad, and Jeremy. So we ate dinner, and it was good. Pulled pork, baked beans, pasta salad, cantaloupe and watermelon, and chips. Lots of food. And we told stories about horrifying chicken experiences (from fried feathers at KFC to cartilage-filled grilled chicken breasts (which will ruin an entire meal for me) to freaky looking chicken wings (I don't eat those either...) to vein-filled drumsticks to crunching on the ends of the bone and sucking out the marrow. Gag me. Okay so I'm prissy. I eat white meat boneless skinless chicken breasts. I suppose if I am in dire straits one day, I'd be willing to eat the other stuff to stay alive. Until then... I'll be prissy :).
We told all sorts of stories at the dinner table, actually. We laughed and it was fun. Because it's only fun when it's fun. That's right: you saw it coming. Oh yeah, we also told the various stories from the ballpark. That way everyone got to hear everyone's perspective. Awesomeness. And then we broke out the Apples to Apples. Good times.

Actually, aside from Monday Meals... My week wasn't that eventful (well, except for the few days when allergies kicked my tail again. I do not enjoy allergies. Just FYI.) I walked with Sue, I checked on a friend's cat, hung out with Saria, Samuel, and Benjamin (it was Brad's weekend to have them), had presidency meeting, worked at the county job and the funeral home... It's funny... When I put it in writing, it doesn't seem like I had much to do. But it sure felt like a ton of things to do! I feel like I stayed pretty busy ;). Saturday was probably the best day of the week. Shocking, huh? I went grocery shopping with my mom and the kids while Brad caught up on sleep from working 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. the day before. Then I worked on getting some pictures ordered (trying to stay on top of that...). And then I got a shower, because Jeremy and I were going to go see a play at the Stake Center called Savior of the World. So Jeremy arrived and we went to the park to study scriptures and just enjoy the pretty day. Then we went to Rachel's and got another delicious pizza (and this time I actually picked zucchini as one of the toppings... it is that good!). Then we drove to the Stake Center and watched the play. It was a really nice evening. There's just something wonderful about sitting next to someone you love and holding hands while enjoying a beautiful event :).

Have I mentioned that I'm kind of sappy lately? Along those lines... Let me tell you how things sometimes go... So my friend Em stops me at church today and asks me how things are going... In that tone of voice that can only mean she's asking about one specific "thing." And that would be Jeremy. And I grin. Like a big dummy. Because I can't help it. And the lady next to her, who is also a friend of mine, says, "Don't you love how she just glows when you ask her that question?" Hahaha... Okay, so maybe they love it. But I feel a bit of a blush coming on ;). So so sappy :). Which rhymes with happy. So you can read into that whatever you'd like ;).

So today was Sunday. An early morning. The choir sang twice and Primary was Primary. Always busy with lots to do and lots to check up on. Then I went to choir practice and was reminded about a Scout meeting I have tonight. So I will be going to that shortly. But while I was outside watering my garden, the kiddos pointed out that I had several strawberries!!! So we picked the four most ripe ones and me and the 3 kids got to eat a strawberry each from my garden. And this is only one of the three plant "sections" of strawberries. So I am pretty excited I will get a lot more strawberries this year than last year!! (Ummm... Yeah, I sort of need to weed around the strawberries. It's on my list of priorities, but obviously not high on it...). Well, I'm off to get a shower before I eat a quick dinner (barbecue beef in the crock pot) and head to my meeting. So TTFN :),

Oh yeah... My priorities... Well, no time for that. Haha... I'm prioritizing ;).

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

So those who have known me for a while will probably feel shocked that I went to a baseball game. Even if it was minor league. And maybe they'll be even more shocked when I say I had a great time. But I'll get to that. There's always the importance of re-capping my week for kicks (and some sort of posterity purpose ;)).

Monday was mostly a typical day. Back to work. One of my co-workers was out for the week, so that meant I was doing two jobs. Makes for a busier day, so that is always good :). I am settling into the job and feeling more comfortable with things, so that is good.

Tuesday was a good day. Mostly for the part that came after work :). It was a chance to see Jeremy for a small hour during the week. I'm such a goober. But in a good way :). What can I say?

Wednesday I had to sit in a meeting all morning with the commissioners and then I had to type up the minutes from that meeting later in the week. There's some good times. I walked with a friend from church (Andrea). It was sort of a last minute thing, but since I had a pretty "low-key" week (at least as far as a typical week in the Nilla Life goes), I was pretty much open and available to walk. It's always fun to chat with a friend while getting some ejercisio. I'm working on my Spanish. One word at a time. Haha.

Thursday was quiet again. Casual jeans day at work, always a bonus. I'm sure there were probably some adventures or something at work. Obviously not of enough importance to have stuck with me. I think I average about one random citizen phone call a day. I thought I'd heard it all, after working in a couple different public libraries. Turns out, I was wrong... I had an early night on Thursday. Seriously early. Lights out by 9:45. Such a rarity for me.

And the result of that was not really sleeping in on my only day to sleep in. Oh sweet irony. I did give it my best effort, though, and pretty much stayed in bed until around 8:00. Then I got up and got moving. I had pop rocks to glue, Sharing Time to plan, errands to run. And the list goes on. I did not work at the funeral home, though I did go by there. In my bright yellow shirt. You know... The one from my fashion faux pas? Yep. I'm sure I blended right in :). We didn't have Primary Presidency meeting Friday, because Christina (not my sister) was out of town. I also watered my plants once I got back home and then eventually got a shower and got ready to head to T-town (in Washington State, that is Tacoma, not Tuscaloosa) with Lea and Chuck. You see... Back before I quit the library, there was a pretty decent deal where we could pay $9.95 to buy a ticket to a Tacoma Rainiers baseball game. This is minor league, in case you were curious. I don't tend to be an avid sports-watcher (and that may be a slight understatement), so this is somewhat shocking for a Nilla such as myself. But a good deal is a good deal, and lately I've started to appreciate the opportunity to enjoy an experience of something, even if it's not something I would ever make a priority. So for $9.95, I figured this was a pretty awesome deal. Plus Lea and Chuck were going, so I knew it'd be fun regardless of how the actual game was. So I bought a ticket right before I quit, and they mailed it to me in the mail about a month or so later. Oh yeah, and this is the reason for my song title post.

So I got to Lea's and after a few minutes of gabbing about coupons inside, we piled into her car and headed to Tacoma. Woohoo! We caught up on the previous week's goings-on and when we got to the parking area at the stadium (where the security people were directing us to go, mind you), we got told rather rudely that "the lot is full." And that became our quote for the majority of the night. We finally got parked, and really our parking space wasn't so bad, if you ask me. We headed into the game and tried to take a picture with the mascot (which we spent the majority of the evening was believing a moose, but it turned out to be a reindeer (and I did think it was the weirdest looking moose I'd ever seen, but it did have antlers, and I figured Chuck knew what he was talking about)), but the reindeer had to leave to go elsewhere. We felt a little jipped. Until we saw the big red key mascot walking around. For a bank that was sponsoring the team, I suppose. Well, it's all about the experience. And so we got a picture with the key.
Chuck made fun of us the whole time he was taking our picture. Which made it extra funny when the key walked over to him after our picture, put its arm around him, and took a picture with Chuck. Hahahahaha. Hilarious. I don't have that picture, since it's on Lea's camera. But it was hysterical. So we walked around for a bit and looked around. I'd never been to a baseball park before, so I didn't really know what to expect. It was pretty cool, really. Oh, I should also mention that, along with our $9.95 entry came a free hot dog, free chips, and free drink from the ballpark. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and tell you right here. I had high expectations of the hot dog at the ballpark. I mean, you always hear about awesome hot dogs at the ballpark, right? My expectations were high. So we find the line to get the free hot dogs. And we stand in the line. Basically who knows when these hot dogs were even cooked. Probably several hours before, because that was the grayest hot dog I've ever put mustard on in my life. Which should have been clue number one. Chuck embellished his with relish (mixed with a little trash can germs) and proceeded to eat it and tell us that it was a rough hot dog -- and we know him: he eats anything and likes it. (The man has a love of "heat lamp food" I will never understand.) Which should have been clue number 2. So we get to our seats and learn that the game is going to start an hour late "due to traffic." Ummm, what?!? We got there on time, so I'm not sure how the players didn't manage to. Anyway, so Lea and I found our seats and I got to see a couple people I haven't seen since leaving the library. And then we chomped into our hot dogs. Oh. My. Gosh. So that was the 2nd worst hot dog consumed by me in Nilla history. Topped only by the mushy, flimsy, red-dye hot dog in Alabama, which I ate out of courtesy to my hosts who were being very gracious. So let me tell you this... This hot dog was gray on the outside and flesh-colored on the inside. Like human flesh-colored. Nasty. On the way home, Chuck began referring to it as a hot dog: medium rare. Oh man. We laughed so hard. It was gross. Between the hours of 7 and 9, I experienced something awful: allergies. I have never had allergies in my life. But last week, I started experiencing them. The inside of my nostrils, literally, were itching. Grrrr. I wanted to scratch them off my face. It got particularly bad at the game. Over the course of 2 hours, I got the itchy nostril thing, a stuffed up nose, and slightly more moist eyes (I think the contacts kind of help prevent some of the eyeball reactions). But by 9:00, the symptoms started to lessen, and that is wonderful! And we were able to take a picture that was not a stuffed-up Hila picture.
We did not stay the whole game. I think we left during the bottom of the 6th, because it was simply getting too late. We had a bit of a drive home, after all. But we got a picture a bit closer to the action on the way out. I put the first picture up, even though we both look horrible, because of the action shot in the middle of us. Which was awesome! And then the 2nd shot just for the fact that at least we were looking forward and ready.

And then, as we left the stadium, we got a shot with the lit up sign in the background. And then we left the lot that wasn't "full." Haha.
During the drive home, we laughed so hard about everything from the lot being full, the pictures with the key, the garbage-hot-dog (which wasn't much worse than the ones without garbage remnants on them), the medium-rare dogs... But in all seriousness, my stomach was not doing so well with that hot dog, and it was hurting to laugh. So I finally said, "Oh don't make me laugh! I'm fighting the dog!" Which was meant to come out as "this dog is barking!" Which it turns out that is supposed to be referring to tired feet. Hahaha... So I messed that all up. But it made us laugh even harder. And, much like "it's only fun when it's fun," I think it will take on a life of its own, because Lea and Chuck laughed hysterically and said, "Okay, from now on, people aren't feeling sick... they're fighting the dog!" Hahahaha. Anyway, I got home around 11:30 and talked to Jeremy for a teensy bit and gave him the brief run down of my hot dog adventures. Then I went straight to sleep, because seriously I was kind of beat. Those allergies kicked my tail. Plus I had a really early morning coming up.

Because on Saturday morning, I work up at 5:45 (gross) to head with my mom to the Temple (so worth it). We took the ferry. I tried to sleep on the ferry. My mom, however, has a habit of falling asleep within 2 minutes and snoring in the next minute. No sleep for me. It was a nice morning (rainy, though), and it was nice to go with my mom to the Temple. We headed home around 10 and stopped to get gas on the way. My mom and I have a good time yakking and talking. It's fun to laugh with her. I changed clothes and got a few things packed to take with me when Jeremy got there. He got there about a quarter to noon and then we went and ate at this local cafe for which I had a gift card (thank you Melanie...). It was a neat. Different. A lot of food. And had we wanted to, we could have eaten with "friends." Haha... We were okay to wait or eat outside. I don't necessarily mind meeting new people, but sitting down halfway through someone else's lunch at their table: slightly awkward. But the food was good, and the ambiance was pretty interesting. And then we went to a new park to walk around and spend some time until it was time to watch Jeremy's co-worker's cat. The cat is in need of some TLC lately, so we got to cat-sit for a few hours. Which gave us an opportunity to study scriptures and for me to whip Jeremy at Chinese Checkers (okay, so I only won by one move... and I went first). I usually win without strategy. Which is more hilarious when my opponent has worked on strategy. Hilarious or ironic. Depending on how you want to look at it ;). (Or both). When the cat owners got home, we ended up playing Cranium. I'd never played that game before. I don't do so well at the creativity box (like trying to draw a flying buttress -- what is that anyway!?!) But I can spell subpoena sin problema. I also didn't know what faux pas Dan Quayle had committed on Murphy Brown back in 1992 (though I did know he had committed one). And look at that! I've used faux pas in this blog post twice (three if you count that one ;)). So Jeremy and I started out pretty slow. But it doesn't take much for the tides to turn -- especially if you know the theme song to Gilligan's Island (but not if you mistake an impersonation of Queen Elizabeth to be an impersonation of R2D2 -- that was me, by the way ;)). Anyway, we lost at that one, but only by one move. And it was fun. Which is the most important part, at least to me :). So I got home around 11:30 and took a shower and crashed.

This morning I got up earlier than usual, because I thought I had to set up the chairs for Primary (someone had been nice enough to do this already, though) and then have choir practice. The choir sang. So did the Primary (for Father's Day), and that was fun. Then it was off to Primary, which was pretty intense today. We had a lot of people out of town, so I ended up plunking out melody notes (and more when possible) on the piano for singing time and then taught Sharing Time. Plus we helped the kids with their "My Pop Rocks!" cards, and had to monitor all the classes to make sure all was well. But it turned out just fine. I got home and found that my mom had bought some Nalley pickles yesterday. Oh my gosh. My new favorite pickles. I had told her about them on the way home from the Temple, so she found them on sale at Safeway and decided to get some. I have an obsession with pickles lately. Except the one that came with lunch at the Cafe yesterday. That was not a good pickle. In my opinion. Anyway, so I ate a pickle or two. I like the baby or petite dills. Not that you care :). I baked a cake for tomorrow night's Monday Meals (we are resuming after our 4 week hiatus) plus put together the breakfast casserole I'm taking for work brunch tomorrow (will have to cook for an hour in the morning, which means an early early morning for me. Boo). It was a good day, all in all. But I am bushed. And so I am turning in early tonight :).

My Life Is Changing Every Day, In Every Possible Way

What a week! Full of eventfulness. And pretty much all good :). Yay! I should keep my calendar with me when I blog... It would be helpful in re-capping the week. Now I must rely on my rusty memory ;). Okay, so it isn't always rusty. But remembering requires more effort than simply reading off a calendar. But then it also affords the opportunity to remember the details as I remember the event. And then I smile. So it'll be worth it anyway :).

Oh yeah, this is a song title post. I've loved this song for about 15 years (since it first came out). It came on the radio in the car the other day, and I discovered that I love it even more now. :) What an awesome song.

Okay, so Monday. I think I left off with Monday in my last blog post. So I won't delve more into that. Tuesday was work and then I walked with Sue. And okay, so I guess -- so far -- this isn't looking like such an impressive week. But it gets better :). Because next came Wednesday. And I got to smile really big as soon as I got home from work, because Jeremy was waiting at my house :). So he changed my car oil, and then we went to eat at the diner (I got a Greek salad -- and saved 2 of the kalamata olives for last, because they are yummy :)). The feta cheese was a bit tartish and made my eyes twitch a bit. But I wasn't winking ;). Then we went to the funeral home (always a good option, of course) to sit and read scriptures together and talk. And then we did more of that talking stuff sitting at my house. I talk a lot, what can I say :)? I write a lot too. (So don't say I didn't warn you :)).

Thursday was my last day of work at the county for the week (can I say again that I love this 4-day work week deal?) and I was busy all day! Which is awesome for me. I enjoy staying busy. I am learning a lot of new stuff. Governmental stuff is.... eh kinda goofy. But whatever. I'm learning a lot of new stuff. And I got another "crazy call." I actually felt for the dude. But man, it makes me laugh that this stuff actually happens. It's nutty. So this guy is basically fighting the city where he lives (within the county) about having a grass lawn in his backyard. The city says he can't. Hahaha... Really!?!? I can only imagine what kind of calls will await me in the future. You can't make this stuff up! Then at night was the Relief Society weeknight activity. Often I feel inclined to skip these. Not because they aren't great and all that. But because I just get to Thursday night and feel like, "Eh, I don't want to go anywhere else." But this time they were doing 72-Hour Kit stuff. Emergency Preparedness stuff. And since I set that as a goal for the year, I was pretty gung-ho about going. So I did. It was fun. It's nice to get ideas and see what others have done. Sometimes you just get a good idea that way. Like how to cook macaroni and cheese over a home-made candle in a tuna can using a #10 can. Hmmm.... Interesting. Making mac & cheese is a pretty high priority in the Nilla Life. You know my love for cheese. Plus it's nice to visit with people. So yeah, that was a good event. And then I got to talk to Jeremy and we talked all about our days.

Friday was another busy day. Up at 7 to take my mom to work, just stayed at the funeral home for a bit until time to go to the Dollar Tree to find pop rocks for a Father's Day gift for Primary. Ummm yeah, that was a great time. Because I had to sit in the car and wait for 30 minutes, since I mistakenly thought the store opened at 8 (it opens at 9). So I was productive and cleaned out my purse, replaced my insurance cards, etc. And I was way rewarded for my wait, by the way. With 1 whole 3-package bag of pop rocks. For the record, I needed a total of about 40. So, with that package added to the 3 I had managed to score at the other Dollar Tree on Thursday night (oh yeah, forgot to include that I went there before the RS Activity) I had a whoppin' 12 packets of pop rocks. Woohoo! Well, I was a little distressed, but not to worry: Oriental Trading carries this stuff. So I went to Primary Presidency Meeting, we hot glued the 12 packets onto cards that say "My Pop Rocks!" and I made promises to obtain the other 28 packages and construct the remainder of them. Well, FYI: Oriental Trading charges 50 cents per package. And I'm kind of cheap. And my math says that 33 cents each is cheaper than 50 cents each (and today, my math happens to agree with everyone else's math -- an awesome occurrence for sure!), so I was a little perplexed over this. So I called the other Dollar Tree in the town where I work (my initial shopping target after work on Thursday, but life happens, and so that didn't...) and asked if they had 10 packages on the shelf. Wonder of wonders! They had more than 10! So I sent Brad on an errand for me. Because I didn't have time to run down there after work, and I wanted to make sure I had those pop rocks coming one way or another, and I was preferring it not be the Oriental Trading avenue. Score! Now to glue them together. So I came home to get a shower and then headed to Lea's by 5:30 so we could head to Morgan's graduation! Woohoo!!! We got there in plenty of time and got a semi-decent seat. Both Morgan and Dan graduated. Awesome to get to watch them walk and see them so excited about the future. And afterward, we had to get pictures. Of course. So here are me, Lea, and Dan.
And me, Lea, and Morgan. And oh yeah... I got mistaken for being related to their family again. Someone assumed I was Chuck's sister, because I look like Morgan, but not like Lea. Hahaha.
We were there quite a while as everyone hugged and laughed and cried and took pictures, etc. I rode with Chuck and Lea, so I was along for all for all of that. And then we discussed dinner on the way home, because nobody had eaten. And of course, Lea had a house-ful of people. So we got back to their house and ordered pizza, which we scarfed at about 10 at night. Healthy, I'm sure :). And of course we had fun. Because it's only fun when it's fun. I think we need to resurrect that statement. And here's proof of it, by the way :) (though I look a little unnatural in this one...):
So I left a little after 11 and headed home. Wanted to get some good sleep, because my Saturday was going to be pretty full. And full it was! So I slept until 8, thinking an hour was plenty of time to make a couple of ghetto graduation cards (didn't have time to peruse a card aisle somewhere, and though I don't mind making cards, I do like to have the appropriate tools to make it legit -- but barring that, I guess I just punt), wrap a present, locate batteries for my camera (whose batteries died the night before right after the above picture), eat breakfast, and probably something else I can't remember. Probably actually write in said ghetto cards. Because I did want them to have personal significance. Because Dan and Morgan are pretty awesome kids. I'm proud to know them, personally. So Jeremy picked me up at 9 (okay, so he was on time, and I was running 10 minutes late...), we went and dumped my old oil, and then I went to meet his parents. They are really nice and his mom is super-sweet. And her potato salad was right up my alley! Light on the mayo and add black olives! (I generally don't like potato salad because of the mayo -- I don't care for mayo, but I like hers). Leave it to me to discuss food aspects when discussing meeting my boyfriend's parents... I am a food-lover, after all :). So after we visited for a couple hours, we headed out, because we had Morgan's graduation party to attend. We stopped at a hardware store on the way, the same one where I got some seedlings last year for acorn squash and cucumbers. So I got more of those and also a tomato plant. My garden has been rather pitiful. So I caved and started buying plants. My mom bought several last weekend. So eh... Not such a fruitful garden this year as far as planting from seed. But you live, you learn. And I keep hearing a lot of seasoned gardeners (of which I am not a part) saying that this is not going to be a good growing year anyway. Too cold for too long. Bummer. So I will take what I can get. So we got to the party and met everyone. And everyone met Jeremy. It was the first time Lea met him. This was basically a party for their family and close family friends. So we went in and dished up our plates (oh my gosh what a lot of food!!! We didn't even get a chance to sample everything!). Jeremy was the first to brave the "Tip It" frisbee game. Basically two teams form and throw the frisbee back and forth. The first person on the team is supposed to "tip it" (touch it with finger, hand, head, foot, whatever) and direct it to other teammates, and then hopefully, one of those other teammates will catch it. And then throw it back. Well, Lea and I joined too. I am comical at these things, by the way. I can't throw a frisbee so well. I think I hit the house more than floating that sucker to the other team. Oops. But we had a lot of fun. Always room for laughter in events such as these :). Then we did cake and presents. I got Morgan the panini maker, which she thought was cool. She laughed and said, "I think I only said I wanted one of these one time!" It's fun to surprise people. I just gave Dan some money. So by this point, it was about 3:15 and Jeremy and I had other engagements scheduled. So we had to head out. But never before a few pictures :). So here are me and Morgan and me and Lea. FUN!!

Having awesome friends is pretty dang awesome.

So we headed to the place "where a kid can be a kid" and an adult can cringe and be bored and eat cardboard pizza. I'm positive Jeremy was so impressed with his opportunity to do this ;). But it was for Samuel's birthday, so you just kind of do those things for the kiddos. But seriously. I kind of loathe Chuck E. Cheese. Mostly I hung out with Emily (because she loves her Ha). And I helped her waste some tokens. But one time I hit the button at the perfect time and got something like 100 tickets. Woohoo!
And the kids don't seem to mind the cardboard pizza so much. So here are Saria and Emily.
And even though Samuel was the birthday boy, I only got one real shot of him and it was while opening a present. Not sure what that facial expression is. Haha.
And though it was hard to pull us away from the excitement of watching the kids pore over the glass case full of Oriental Trading junk toys on which to "spend" their tickets (that was heavily laced with sarcasm), Jeremy and I skipped out on the fun at that point. And went to Quizno's. Which didn't taste so much like cardboard :). And then it was back to my house to plant the plants that I had bought and that my mom had bought and that Jeremy's mom gave me (more raspberries :)). Which resulted in starting to weed, because the grass is growing at a ridiculous pace. And since we did that until about 9 p.m. (it's still light out at that time), we skipped our walk around the neighborhood in the interest of avoiding the big mosquitoes that were annoyingly buzzing around. But that doesn't mean skipping talking. Because we didn't skip that. It's so wonderful :). I ooze ooey-gooeyness according to Juliebean. And I'm pretty much totally okay with that ;). And thus ended Jeremy's foray into a crazy day in the crazy Nilla Life. Always on the go. In fact, other big events that occurred over the weekend were Royce's graduation and then his combo graduation/birthday party. Plus my sister-in-law's birthday today! So it was definitely an eventful week!

Today was church. The choir sang two songs and practiced before church. So I was there by 8:30. Then off to Primary, which was a bit rough today. It started out with 4 kids crying when their parents left. Phew! Some days are just rougher than others. But we survived. It's all about growth and learning. And loving and teaching the kids. The kids are just awesome. After church I managed about a 30 minute nap. I also talked to my dad for a bit and read scriptures. And decided to blog. Because I had a lot of pictures to post. And so I'm off! Nighty-night :).

Is This Love That I'm Feeling?

[The answer to the question posed by the post title -- which is a song title post, by the way -- is yes. Just in case you wondered :).]

So it's looking like I can't do better than weekly updates most of the time. Which means I will probably forget a lot of details ;). But probably not the important ones.

So I had a 3-day work week last week. I like those :). Actually I did work on Friday, just not at the county job. Work went fine. Nothing too terribly exciting. So many people took the whole week off, so it was pretty quiet. But that was about the only thing quiet. Haha... The rest of my week was busy!

Tuesday night I walked with Sue. Wednesday I gabbed with Juliebean on the phone and caught her up on all the ooey gooey details of life, and then I went to Xavier's end-of-year choir concert with Lea. I think the music choices weren't that great this year. But the orchestra that played (all high school students) was amazing! I was way impressed with them. The concert ended after 9, which seemed late. I don't remember it having been that late last year. But it was still fun. Hanging out with friends usually is :). On Thursday I went to the church and we cleaned out the Primary closet (or started to) and met with the Stake Primary Presidency. And when I left, I found a note on my car :). It made me smile :). On Friday, I had a Presidency meeting, then I worked at the funeral home, then I went to Wal-Mart and Target. While at Wal-Mart, I ran into Em and her husband Mark. And of course she asked about Jeremy. And of course I couldn't stop smiling like an idiot. It's hilarious. And awesome. I embrace the ooey gooeyness. I went and got a panini maker for Morgan's graduation present. I can't believe she is graduating on Friday. It feels like they just started the school year! Time has flown! I house-sat for Bob and Melanie over the weekend. That's always nice and relaxing. And Saturday I walked with Andrea (and it was hot!). Seriously, the weather went from unseasonably cold to hotter than I care for -- overnight! Actually it wasn't bad if you weren't exerting much energy. Jeremy got to the house around 11:45ish and helped Brad look at his truck. Then we pulled a few weeds in the flower bed (and threw out a bunch of snails). And then we went to eat at Shari's. Then off to a park. The view at the park was gorgeous. But clear days here area usually like that. And this park was on the water, so we could see the mountains in the distance, and when the sun set (because we were there until after that), the water was just so beautiful. We spent a big chunk of the day sitting on the grass in the shade of a tree (it was either that or melt ;)...). And some guy in a house nearby started playing the bag-pipes. Which was kind of random. Really it was just a nice relaxing day. I would definitely put that day on my "way worth re-living" list -- you know, assuming that was a possibility. Which it really isn't. Except for in my memory. Thank goodness I have a pretty decent memory ;).

Well, though it doesn't seem as though I've written much in this post, I think I will go for now. Focus on some other things for a bit.
